Quiraing

Anyone who has been to Skye and loves the scenery surely must know of the Quiraing. It may not be as towering as the Cuillin, but its rock structures look like they have been transported from Mordor.

Having found a place to park, we set out across the path. The last time I visited was around 25 years ago. We were pretty much the only people there then. Well that has changed! Lots of cars, and lots of people.

Both times I have been before (the first being about 40 years ago) we climbed up into the Table, hidden inside the pinnacles. So we headed around the far side to where I thought the easiest way up was, and started up the scree. Suffice it to say that it was not easy. We turned around about 3/4 of the way up, and made a delicate way back down. Izzie slipped and slid a bit, and we knocked a large stone down near some other walkers. So sadly that will have to wait until another time.

Once back at the car park, we got a snack and cup of tea from the grumpiest, slowest person ever. Then found that the height barrier had been put back in place, but was fortunately just high enough for us to get through.
