Should have been in Jersey this weekend but Covid put pay to that. So a couple of nights away in the campervan in Cheddar were the next best option.
We chose a route that took us up to the south of the gorge. It was not the most inspired route choice, and had little in the way of interest to take our minds off the humidity. A steady pace was needed to avoid becoming soaked in sweat.
After reaching the edge of the gorge things improved, partly due to the improved views, and partly because the uphill part was now complete. Beautiful views down into the gorge were offered.
In retrospect, we should have done the (more usual) loop of climbing up on the south side, then returning on the North, giving a good panoramic view of the cliffs from the opposite side.
